Trailers round & flat...

Pin 2 - Green Wire - Right Turn Signal
Pin 3 - Brown Wire - Running Lights
Pin 4 - Red Wire ---- Brake Lights
Pin 5 - White Wire -- Ground.
Recommend going to (-) on battery with a crimp ring terminal... Recommend going to battery
Numbers is what is on round plugs... With proper wire color to it... Signal and light(s) on right of it are for trailer lights...
- Always best to take the white wire at bike end directly to battery with proper ring terminal...
-
- Note: On all Time Out and Cycle Mate trailers there are no lights depending on trailer frame ground.
-
- Each light has ground going directly back to bike.
-
- Better to go directly to battery rather than your bike plug and play bike smaller wiring harness...
-
- Quick connect terminals work IF they are not in direct moisture... Solder and tape is best...
-
- Best to wire under seat when you can... Quick connect will last longer there...
-
- Connect the trailer wire harness from back bike bumper, follow the frame up and secure wires with tie raps...
-
- Enter wires under seat.
-
- Always connect colored wires to proper wires on bike behind last plug connector going out to the fender lights...
-
- SPECIAL NOTE: Trailer wire is standard most all trailers, (see above), and do not match up to color on any bikes or vehicles... Seek help if you don't know how to match up wires...
Camper Trailer LED Lights Are Bright...
- Photo above is optional plug for Harley that can be used so you do not have to splice wires under the bike seat...
- This is a no brainer plug...
- Fits in between existing plug there...
- Available for Goldwings also... See option page... Two types...
- 5 wire trailer plug above. 501 is trailer plug. 502 is bike end.
- A set as shown is $20.00 or $10.00 per plug.
- Bike end with 4 feet of wire add $10.00
NOTE:
- ALL Timeout and Cycle-mate trailers have 5-wire round trailer plug on trailers from 2011 and earlier...
- 2012 and newer trailers has 5-wire flat plugs
- ALL Timeout and Cycle-mate trailers have bike end plug with apx. 4 feet of wire included with their trailers... Above as shown is $20.00 with wires $30.00...

4 WIRE PLUG on Bike or Vehicle - To 5 Wire Plug on trailer...
WIRING when trailer has yellow signal lights
- You will need a flat 4 plug on trailer replacing the 5-wire if trailer has round plug... Red or blue wire that was brake wire DOES NOT get connected.
- 5 wire flat trailer plug should work in car or bike end 4 wire. The one that is out in air from trailer is the brake wire. Your signal lights are both signal and brake now. The red or blue wire that was your brakes that goes to your brake and running lights now does nothing.
- Will need to change yellow signal lights to red... Yellow can't be used as stop lights... All States and Canada...
- Bike plug should be connected with white wire to bike ground, I prefer to battery...
- Bike yellow is left turn. Bike green is right turn...
- Bike brown is running...
NEXT the Trailer... When 4 or 5 wire flat plug is on vehicle, generally changing trailer is all that needs to be done, unless plugs aren't compatible...
- If 5 wire trailer plug fits into 4 wire vehicle than red wire is all that needs to be cut and taped...
- If not, cut off 5-wire 5 plug... Install 4-wire plug with in line butt crimp splice...I like to but little greese over connections and use heat shrink... This saves moisture on connections and troubles down the road is eliminated...
- Connect white to white. NOT to trailer. White is the ground for lights...
- Yellow to yellow.
- Green to green.
- Brown to brown.
- Red wire Does Not get connected to anything... Be sure it's taped...
Read On...
This is the way the trailer lights will now work...
- The red lights are now only running lights...
- The yellow lights are now both stop and signal lights ...
- Both yellow lenses as on right trailer will now have to be changed to red...
- Or light will need to be changed to red if a sealed oblong light like above or round light like below is on trailer...All States, brake light must be red...
-
- IF left signal is on and brakes at same, the signal will flash and opposite light will stay on, on the outside lights...
- The inside red lights is now only running lights...
- Lights will not work if #6 above red wire is connected in any way...
5 Wire on bike or vehicle to a 4 wire trailer.
- You will need a 5 wire to 4 wire converter for vehicle...
-
- Generally, run about $20.00. Can be bought locally at a tractor supply store and some Walmart and K-Mart.
-
- Auto parts like Napa, Advance auto supply, Auto Zone and a good U-Haul will also have them.
-
- I personally like the one with the molded 4 wire end found at Tractor supply...
-
- Instructions is on all converters...
Time Out has added a 5-wire flat plug on all their trailers.
5 Wire Plug to 4 Wire Plug. How it will work.
5 wire plug on trailer with 4 wire on vehicle.
- With 5 wire plugs, this means you have separate lights on trailer to operate each signal light. Other light is a running light and brake light, each side. signal lights can be either red or yellow.
-
- With 4 wire system there is no blue wire. all lights on back are red
-
- Your yellow wire is left turn signal and also your brake light.
-
- Green wire is right signal light and also your brake light.
-
- When 4 wire is plugged into 5 wire all lights on back of trailer must be all red. Can not have yellow used as a brake light.

- Outside light will still be running light... Inside light will now be brake and signal light...
- This saves the need of fabricating any electrical and eliminates a converter.
-
- Only trailers NOT set up this way is the HRT, Zephyr and XL models The lights on these trailers cannot be changed....
Important Notes:
- I use in line crimp found at any automotive or department stores, as well as heat shrink...
- Try and use grease filled style crimps... If you can.t, then put a little grease on wires, or Vaseline...
- Grease keeps moisture from wires which saves problems later...
- Sleeve heat shrink on wires before crimping... If no heat shrink tape tightly...
- Bad ground, (not going to battery (-) NEG) is biggest light failure problem.
- Failure to do one Thu four above is the second biggest problem. Wires will corrode if you don't...
- All States and Canada... Yellow can not be used for stop lights... That is why lights have to be changed to red from yellow or amber...
- LED lights are the best lighting, period. Last forever, draws no power like with single filament bulbs. Also, LED's have many small lights not just one filament so if you lose a couple there is still lights... Six to eight LED lights is about same power as one filament bulb...
